Associate Veterinarian, Term Position with Path to Permanent
We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with a strong interest in surgery to join our team for a 12-month term beginning February 2027. There is a possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
The position
This is a 4-day-per-week position, 9a to 5p, with some flexibility. There are no evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts. You will see a full small animal general practice caseload, including wellness, medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery.
What we’re looking for
• DVM with at least 5 years of small animal experience
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, with the NSVMA
• Confident handling appointments, diagnostics, and surgery independently
• An established interest in surgery
Experience with more advanced procedures is an asset. Examples include complicated mass removals, mature and pyometra spays, cystotomies, gastrotomies and enterotomies, splenectomies, gastropexies, and dental extractions.
Our team and hospital
Each doctor is supported by an RVT, a veterinary assistant, and a receptionist. Our RVTs have been with us for several years. They run technician appointments, manage anaesthesia and diagnostics, and assist in doctor appointments. Our reception team is friendly and highly capable. Your veterinary colleagues are experienced, collaborative, and always willing to consult on cases.
